When I began my career at YOU salon Inc in 2005, I was just as green as the salon was. After training and learning as an apprentice with YOU salon’s founder, Robin Gribbin and her son Jason, I came to appreciate just how special and unique YOU salon is. Robin’s dream was to create a haven for people to come and receive the best customer service, from the best quality trained service providers, with the best results for haircuts and color in our area. After 11 years of being open for business and receiving multiple awards and recognition’s, I’d say that ultimately, she achieved that dream. Robin started YOU salon and nurtured it into a successful business. I am honored to be taking ownership as she prepares to enjoy the next stage of her life: Retirement!
Although the ownership of YOU salon has changed, the values, goals, and integrity that this company was built upon will remain the same. You’ll see small cosmetic changes and updates here and there, but the company values that we all work very hard to maintain will remain in place. We will also strive to achieve the same family atmosphere that you’ve all come to expect here at YOU salon.
Behind the scenes, you will still find Meghanne, Robin’s daughter. She will work by my side to run the company in the same capacity as she did with Robin for many years. Jason will also continue as a valuable part of our team. Over the past few years Jason has become a Redken Artist where he travels the nation educating other salon professionals on the latest trends. Due to his travel schedule, his time in the salon will be limited. This means he will have fewer hours that he can service guests, but the knowledge he brings back will enable him to grow the skills of the team and keep YOU on trend. One of our goals as a company is to be at the forefront of change in the industry. With Jason as our Educational Director, we have an amazing opportunity to achieve this. Jason’s knowledge, skills, and exposure to the industry trends will be pasted along to our staff, so they can offer so much more to YOU.
In the short amount of time as the new owner, I have received many well wishes and a warm welcoming. Thank you for all of your support in this new chapter in my life. I look forward to building new relationships as a business owner. In fact, one of my goals is to have more community involvement as a company. Through in-house events, partnering with organizations/charities, and attending community gatherings, I want to give back to the local community. I am also looking to improve on ways to give back to the client through membership and loyalty programs. My primary focus however, is customer service. Our staff will be exposed to as much training and education as possible to offer YOU the best experience. I am excited for the challenge of taking a successful company to the “elusive next level.”
